Singing star John McNichol to headline Irish fundraising tribute concert

A GALA Irish Concert taking place this month will celebrate the life of the late John Collins.

Hosted by the Triskellion Theatre Productions, the event will remember the proud Cork man, who died in November 2020 from a Covid related illness.

A supporter of Triskellion for more than 25 years, Mr Collins hailed from the parish of Kildorrery.

“John always offered huge encouragement for our events, along with his wife Grace and daughter Sharon,” Triskellion founder Gerry Molumby explained.

“The Collins’ family’s support for all things Irish, the Irish community and St Joseph’s parish in Harrow is well-known and appreciated,” he added.

The tribute event will be held at thew newly constructed theatre in the Salvatorian College in Harrow, north London on Saturday, February 26.

Headlining the concert is Northern Irish Country singer John McNicholl and his Band.

They will be supported by the London-based singer/songwriter Terence O’Flaherty with Caroline and Liam Nolan.

Eilish Byrne Whelehan and The London Celtic Youth Orchestra, a group of outstanding young musicians, singers and dancers who perform throughout the year at many high-profile events, will also take part in the event.

And the show will not be without a touch of comedy as the hosts, Gerry Molumby and Patrick O’Connell are expected to take to the stage also.

A charity raffle will be held to raise funds for The British Heart Foundation and The Michael Sobell Hospice who cared for John Collin’s late aunt.

“We are all delighted to be back together again, as the Covid pandemic put a firm stop to our Irish culture showcases over the past two years,” Mr Molumby said.

Tickets for the Gala Irish Concert, which takes place at 7.30pm on Saturday, February 26, cost £15 and are available by calling 07312 032905.
