NEW Irish talent Yvonne Tiernan is bringing a refreshing approach to TV as part of a new online RTÉ series capturing women's ability to engage in an open exchange of stories, intimacies, life lessons and wisdom.

With over 20 years of experience in the world of entertainment, Yvonne, 43, has assembled an impressive guest-list for her very first solo production The Couch.

They include businesswoman and perfumier Jo Malone; comedian writer and actress Sharon Horgan; singer/songwriter Eddi Reader, broadcaster and journalist Maia Dunphy; hotelier and trustee of the Castle Leslie Estate Sammy Leslie; broadcaster and actress Bláithnaid Ní Chofaigh as well as model and agent Celia Holman Lee.

Yvonne, the wife of comedian Tommy Tiernan, is also qualified life coach.

"I’m a mum, a wife, a sister, a daughter and a friend too and I know I don’t have all of the answers. So, I was interested in finding out how other women are dealing with the same challenges," she said.

"I want The Couch to represent the conversations us women are having everyday so as you can imagine there are lots of tears and laughter on set.

"As a big fan of old school interview shows this whole experience is a kind of dream come true for me and I hope it's the beginning of a whole new chapter in my career.”
