ONE Irishman is going viral for his take on the Apple tax controversy.
Earlier this month, Apple were hit with a very large tax bill after the EU commission ruled they had to repay €13 billion to Ireland.
The commission said that Apple and their Irish operation benefited from a low tax rate of one per cent on profits made in 2003 down to 0.005 per cent in 2014.
James Conway, who is originally from Sligo, posted his take on the scandal to Facebook yesterday.
As of this afternoon, the video has since been viewed over 766,000 times.
"As far as I know, and I'm not very educated in the matter," he says, "a million is a thousand thousands."
"So £13billion... That's just an awful amount of money so it is," he added.
"The best part though is the Irish government doesn't want it [...] because they're afraid Apple will get up and go," Mr Conway says in the video.
Mr Conway's advice for the Irish government is "F*ck Apple! Take the money, and start re-doing roads!"
