In Pictures... Irish TV launches in Manchester with live show

CHRISTMAS came early to Manchester when Irish TV launched with a special two hour live show beamed to the world from the city’s Irish World Heritage Centre.

On hand to present the show were Malachi Cush and Manchester’s own Martin Logan, who did a great job on the night.

Amongst those appearing on the show were singers Lisa McHugh, Caitlin Murtagh, Lisa Stanley, Nicky James and his band and local girl Hannah Donelon.

Guests interviewed included Joe Kennedy, Alan Keegan, Paddy Crerand and The Irish Post’s music columnist Joe Giltrap. All were supported by some fantastic Irish dancing by the Keegan Academy and the Reel Deal dance troupe.

Martin Logan, who presents the channel’s weekly Out and About in Manchester, told us that he was very proud to have taken part in the special broadcast — an historic first for Irish TV in Manchester.

There was a full house for the event at the Heritage Centre and the after party went into the wee small hours of the morning.
