WATCH: 102-year-old Irish grandad sings 'The Wild Rover' as he receives Covid-19 vaccine

WHAT. A. LEGEND.

An Irish grandfather is going viral after he was recorded belting out a popular Irish ballad while receiving his Covid-19 vaccine.

John Hegarty is 102 years of age-- and a mighty fine singer-- and he decided to mark the occasion of receiving his vaccine with a singsong.

You know the one-- "No, nay never, No nay never, no more! Will I play the wild rover... No never, no more!"

Getting his jab from Dr Cooke at the Glenties Primary Care Clinic in County Donegal, John broke out into the famous verses of The Wild Rover as Dr Cooke administered the vaccine.

Glenties Community Development Group posted the video to Facebook, where an admin wrote:

"Wonderful scenes at the health centre today as John Hegarty, at the young age of 102, breaks into song as he received his Covid vaccination.

"Well done John!"

The video garnered several hundred likes on the Glenties Facebook page, with dozens of people commenting to praise Mr Hegarty for his singing.

"Isn't he some man, an example to us all," one woman wrote. "Well done."

"That is brilliant!" another wrote. "God bless him."

It sounds like Mr Hegarty will be the first to belt out a tune in a pub once restrictions are lifted-- we'll all be singing then!
