Bus Éireann restarts its Expressway Dublin-London ferry service

BUS ÉIREANN has announced that its Expressway Euroline service between Ireland and Britain is returning today for the first time since the pandemic began.

The service consists of a coach and ferry from Irish Ferries, with prices starting at €39 for a one-way ticket, or €70 for a return.

The service will run twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays from Dublin to London. Passengers using that service check in from 7:15pm, depart at 8pm, arrive in Holyhead at 12.50am, and at Victoria Coach Station in London at 8am. The service also stops in Birmingham at 4.20am.

For passengers going from London to Dublin, the service operates on Fridays and Sundays. Travellers check in at Victoria at 5.45pm, depart at 6pm, and arrive at Busáras at 6.30am. The coach makes its Birmingham stop at 9pm.

Each passenger may take one small item of hand luggage (capable of fitting into an overhead luggage rack or beneath their seat) with them onto the coach. One additional item of luggage is included with your ticket, each item not exceeding 80 x 70 x 20cm in size and weighing no more than 15kg.

"We’re especially pleased to reinstate the service for those passengers who we know rely exclusively on Expressway Eurolines for travel between Ireland and the UK," said Bus Eireann's Head of Expressway Andrew Yates.

"For people who are unable to, or don’t want to fly, whether for environmental, financial, medical or other reasons, these services provide an essential alternative, travelling on our top end new coaches with extra comfortable seating.

"With fares from just €39 one way or €70 return, passengers can travel direct to the heart of London and Birmingham, without the hassle of getting to the airport or long security queues – while making sustainable travel choices and working together to reduce our carbon footprint and energy consumption."

Tickets are available to purchase on the expressway website.
