A MAN has died after a collision involving a truck and a cyclist in Dublin this afternoon.
The incident occurred shortly before 1pm at the junction of Middle Abbey Street and O'Connell Street in the city centre.
"The male cyclist, aged in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene," read a garda statement.
"The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination. No other injuries were reported.
"Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene and local traffic diversions are in place."
Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact them.
Anyone with camera footage who was in the area of Middle Abbey Street and O'Connell Street between 12.30pm and 1.30pm today is asked to make the footage available to gardaí.
