Dog left locked in the back of a van in 26 degree heat

As temperatures soar, there remains a few pet owners who seem to keep forgetting about their animals in the heat.

Gardaí have appealed for the public to be aware of their pets' welfare as a dog was left trapped in a van at a festival in Dublin today.

The pooch was locked in the back of the vehicle in 26-degree heat at the Bray groove festival.

Gardaí managed to get into the van and rescue the dog from the increasing heat.

The Garda Info Twitter account shared in a tweet: "This little fella was left locked in the back of a van today in 26 degree heat at the Bray groove festival.

"Gardaí managed to get into the van and rescue the dog. Please don’t leave animals locked in vehicles on hot days," they added.
