Dublin friends to run London Marathon for Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability

TWO childhood best friends from Dublin will run this Sunday’s London Marathon for people with neurological disabilities.

Rathfarnham women Sineád Moriarty and Catherine Glasheen have been pounding out the miles across Hackney Marshes and along the River Lea in east London to get fit for the event on April 26.

The pair have known each other since their schooldays at Loreto Beaufort and later moved to London together in 2010.

Sinéad, who has worked as a fundraiser for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) in Putney for over four years, said: “I really love working here and have great respect for the work of the therapists and nurses. I have seen the difference that even small donations can make to people with brain injuries.”

All of the money raised will go towards equipment that helps people become more mobile and independent.

Last year 27 people ran the London Marathon for the hospital and raised £57,220 – a target the RHN is hoping to beat this year.
