Dublin mansion featured in James Bond star Pierce Brosnan thriller goes on sale for $12 million

A SPRAWLING Irish mansion which featured in a Pierce Brosnan film is on the market for an eye watering €10 million ($12.15 million).

Located near to the coast in Killiney, South Dublin, the seven-bedroom mansion was the primary location for the movie "I.T.", a 2016 thriller starring Brosnan as a successful airline tycoon living in a state-of-the-art smart home.

The house is teeming with cutting edge gadgetry, including a walk-in fridge, a climate-controlled wine room, and of course, in keeping with current architectural trends, a custom-designed open-plan kitchen.

The mansion also boasts six bedrooms, a media/games room, a Sedum roof with solar panels, CCTV, automatic gates at various entrances, and a Versailles meets 21st century Dublin style landscaped garden.

Named Ananda, the mansion ticks the aesthetic box too, offering a stunning view of the Wicklow Mountains and Killiney Bay, as well as convenience, as it’s just a 30-minute drive Dublin City and Dublin Airport.

The computerised house spans 10,000 sq ft and is connected to public transport links, including Dublin Bus, the DART, and the Luas – that were no doubt lost on the movie’s billionaire protagonist.

Despite its sophisticated technology and open plan design, Ananda is not without its mystery’s: a hidden door adjoined to a beautiful living room, say, that leads to an office with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the property's meticulously landscaped gardens.

Onto the kitchen, which, with its stylish five-seater island, three sinks, and a gallery of modern appliances, lives up to the high bar set by the rest of the property.

Upstairs, Ananda's master bedroom is nothing short of spectacular, with panoramic views of Killiney Bay, the Wicklow Mountains, and Bray Head through its impressive curved glass windows. The palatial bedroom also boasts automated curtains, a walk-in closet, and an en-suite bathroom with a standalone bath, wet room-style shower and great views.

All other bedrooms are kitted out with study areas, plenty of closet space, and boast breath-taking panoramic views.

Outside, the property has a cooking area, two seating areas, an outdoor fireplace, a detached gym, and a planning permission to build a swimming pool.
