An Garda Síochána have reason to believe teen Ana Kriegel was killed by someone she knew

ANASTACIA KRIEGEL, or more commonly known as Ana, was last seen at 5.30pm on Monday, May 14 in Lucan, Co. Dublin.

The 14-year-old, from Leixlip in County Kildare, was in Lucan's St Catherine's Park before her tragic death which is still subject to Gardaí investigation.

The teenager's body was found at 1 pm on Thursday, May 17 in a disused farmhouse on the Clonee Road in Lucan by Gardaí carrying out a mass search of the area.

The site where Kriegel was found is said to approximately 1km from St Catherine’s Park, where she was last seen.

Following the discovery on Thursday, Superintendent John Gordon of Lucan Garda Station said: “We believe the body to the that of Ana Kriegel..."

He added: "We are, at this time, treating the death as suspicious."

Gardaí, having spoken to people in the company of Kriegel before her disappearance and death now have reason to believe the young teen was murdered by someone known to her.

According to The Irish Times, Gardaí deployed to the Kriegel case are examining the Kildare teenager's social media accounts to determine who the last person she was with before her tragic death.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses with any information to come forward and anyone who may have seen Anastasia in St Catherine’s Park or on the Clonee Road on Monday, May 14 is asked to contact the Garda Incident Room on 01 666 7300, the Confidential Telephone Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
