A GROUP of drinkers were outraged after their local charged them an eye-watering €501 for booze, despite there being just four of them.
They took to TripAdvisor to vent their frustration, claiming that "every detail about the place was woeful."
The group said that upon arrival staff members were dismissive and even gave tables to other groups who arrived after they did, according to the Irish Mirror.
After eventually getting a table, the drinkers stayed for four hours, ordering a dazzling array of cocktails, bombs, shots and other drinks.
They claimed they were often forced to wait 20 minutes for their order to arrive, and were flabbergasted when the bill finally arrived.
"If we each individually drank €125 worth of drink I would not be writing this review today," the group wrote.
"This bill is scandalous for four people only there for 4 hours.
"Obviously with a huge bill we had to go through it and their staff kept coming up to us nearly forcing us to pay straight away. I had to tell them to give us a few minutes 3 times."
After the staff agreed to go through the bill with them, they discovered that extra drinks - that were ordered but never arrived - had been added.
"We tried to tell them but they were very abrupt and rude, especially the female manager who managed the bookings and door."
They concluded their review by saying; "It was a liability of a pub, I wish I had more positive things to say but unfortunately I do not. Every detail about the place was woeful."
Now, if you're anything like me, you might take these sorts of TripAdvisor reviews with a pinch of salt ... you know the ones - where everything that could have possibly gone wrong, just happened to go wrong. Makes you question the punters, rather than the pub.
When the staff were rude and the table was late and the orders were messed up and the food was cold and the drinks were late and the bill was too high and their group was nothing but polite and decent throughout ... when they haven't got a single nice thing to say about the place or their experience, it makes me wonder about the legitimacy of the post.
Either way, a €500 bar bill would put anyone in a bad mood.
