Kind-hearted Irish schoolgirl donates money to hospital after her confirmation is cancelled

AN IRISH schoolgirl has made the absolute best of a rather disheartening situation by donating money to hospital to aid in the fight against Covid-19.

11-year-old Libby Fallon-Faley, from Kilbrittain, Co. Cork, was looking forward to being confirmed on Monday, but sadly the event was cancelled due to coronavirus concerns.

She did however receive money from relatives to celebrate the occasion, and she's decided to donate the money to Bandon Community Hospital.

The selfless act certainly didn't go unnoticed. Gardai in Cork were quick to praise her for her thoughtfulness when they got wind of the donation.

On their Cork, Kerry & Limerick - Southern Region Facebook page, they wrote: "Wonderful Gesture! Libby Fallon-Faley is 11-years-old, and lives in Kilbrittain.

"She was due to make her Confirmation on Monday. It was postponed due to Covid-19.

"Libby wanted to donate the money she received as Confirmation gifts to Brandon Community Hospital. Libby is a pupil at Kilbrittain National School.

"Attached is a picture of Libby handing the gift to Garda Jacinta O'Leary.

"Thanks very much to Libby for this wonderful gesture."

What a star!
