Man in his 40s dead after car strikes wall in Dublin

A MAN aged in his 40s has died after a car struck a wall on the N4 in west Dublin this morning.

The single-vehicle collision occurred on the inbound lane of the motorway near Lucan at around 2.15am.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, died after his vehicle left the road and crashed into a wall.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Blanchardstown Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The road was closed following the incident to enable Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to complete an examination of the scene. It reopened later on Sunday morning.
