A MAN in his 60s has died after getting into difficulty in a lake in Co. Laois on Saturday.
The incident happened at Derryounce Lake in Portarlington at around 3.30pm.
The man was rushed to Portlaoise General Hospital but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
A file is being prepared for the coroner, however gardaí are said to be treating the matter as an accident.
