Man 'very seriously injured' after being shot in the head in Dublin this evening

A MAN has suffered serious injuries after being shot in the head in north Dublin this evening.

The incident occurred in the Coolock area of the capital at around 8.15pm.

Gardaí responded to reports that shots had been fired near to Moateview Gardens before discovering an unresponsive man with a gunshot wound to the head.

The injured man remained at the scene being treated by emergency services, as of approximately 8.40pm.

A Garda spokesman said his injuries "are described as very serious."

According to RTÉ News, officers do not believe the shooting is related to the ongoing feud between the Hutch and Kinahan criminal gangs.
