THE moment Olympic Council of Ireland President Pat Hickey was arrested on Wednesday (August 17) was filmed.
In the video, obtained by ESPN Brazil, police are seen holding Mr Hickey's accreditation before knocking on his hotel room door.
Earlier this week The Irish Post reported that on the morning of Mr Hickey's arrest, his wife told police he had left for Ireland already.
Mr Hickey was later found in another room.
In the footage armed police are seen awaiting Mr Hickey outside the hotel room door at approximately 6am, local time.
When he appears, the leading officer explains to Mr Hickey that they "need to talk" to him.
Mr Hickey is then heard making a reference to his wife, before he is lead away in a dressing gown.
After his arrest, Mr Hickey, 71, complained of feeling unwell and cited an existing heart condition.
In the video, he appears to be receiving medical attention by a physician before walking back into the hotel room holding a bottle of water.
Later, police are seen searching Mr Hickey's hotel room.
