Murder investigation launched as woman found dead in Dublin apartment named locally

The 33-year-old woman has been named as Amanda Carroll.

Gardaí investigating the discovery of the deceased at 2.30pm on October 21 at an apartment in Homestead Court, Quarry Road, Cabra are now conducting a murder investigation.

The post mortem has been completed and the results have been passed to the investigation team.

For operational reasons the results are not being released.

RTÉ News reports that the woman is a 33-year-old mother-of-two who is believed to be the victim of a violent assault.

A male in his 30s remains in custody.

He is being detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
