One dead and two seriously injured after car smashes into wall of Irish primary school

A MAN in his 20s has died after a car collided with the outer wall of a primary school playground in Co. Wexford.

The incident occurred in the early hours of this morning on Whitemill Road in Wexford town.

Pictures from the scene show the wrecked vehicle next to the railings outside Kennedy Park National School.

It was being pursued by gardaí at the time, according to the Irish Mirror.

The deceased man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Wexford Hospital.

Two male passengers were also hospitalised with injuries described as serious.

Whitemill Road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

The collision has been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC).
