A PREGNANT woman was punched and had a bottle smashed over her head during an aggravated burglary in Northern Ireland.
The assault happened in Burren Meadow in Newcastle, Co. Down around 5.35am this morning.
The woman’s young daughter was also in the house at the time.
A PSNI spokesman said the woman was left distressed by the experience.
"She sustained non-life threatening injuries after she was punched and had a bottle smashed on her head,” he said.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested and is in custody.
