Public appeal made following sexual assault in Leinster

GARDAÍ have asked for information regarding a reported sexual assault in county Dublin last weekend.

The police force is appealing for witnesses following an alleged sexual assault on Sunday.

The incident occurred between the hours of 5 am and 5:30 am near Harold's Cross in the country's capital.

According to The Irish Times, the man allegedly forced the woman against a vehicle and attacked her, only stopping the assault when a couple walked past.

The victim walked away from the scene of the incident before reporting it to An Garda Síochána.

Gardaí have appealed for the couple who saw and spoke to the man and the injured party while they were standing near the car that was used within the assault to contact them at Sundrive Garda station on 01 6666600 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
