Six arrested over theft of thousands from ATM in Fermanagh

SIX people have been arrested after thousands of pounds were stolen from an ATM machine in Fermanagh.

The incident happened on Thursday at an ATM machine in a shop in the village of Troy, just outside Enniskillen.

Police received a report at around 11am that morning, but the incident is believed to have happened sometime between 1.30am and 5.30am.

Five men and one woman aged between 22 and 51 have been detained today in relation to the theft.

They were arrested in the Crossgar area last night.

All six remain in custody and are being questioned by police.

Detective Inspector Trevor Stevenson told the Belfast Telegraph: “We believe the perpetrators cut the street lighting and alarm wires prior to forcing entry to the shop and were then on site for a number of hours.”
