Status yellow weather warning issued for eleven Irish counties

IRELAND is bracing for unsettled weather as a rainfall warning has been issued for eleven of the twenty-six counties.

A status yellow weather warning has been issued this morning as mass rainfall has been predicted by Met Éireann.

The rain forecasted by the weather broadcaster is set to fall, leaving accumulations of 25mm to 35mm of rainfall between tonight and tomorrow evening.

The bad spell of rain will remain for a 24 hour period, with the warning valid from this evening, May 20 at 7 pm and will last until tomorrow, Monday, May 21 until 7 pm.

The warning was issued at 9 am today and will affect the counties of Kerry, Limerick, Cork, Longford, Cavan, Clare, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Donegal and Galway.

The rain comes as a disturbance to today's cloudy dry weather, with temperatures set to reach highs of 14 and 17 degrees before the sun sets.
