Status yellow weather warning issued for Ireland tomorrow

Tonight is set to be a wild one.

If last night's wind and hailstones were enough to keep you awake like it did me, it looks like tonight won't be much different.

There has been a wind warning issued for the island of Ireland, it has emerged.

According to Met Éireanna widespread national warning has been issued due to high force winds to descend around the country.

Winds in the south of Ireland are set to reach mean speeds of 50 km/hr to 60 km/hr.

Gusts have also been registered to reach 90 to 100km/hr. The strongest winds are set to occur in coastal areas around Ireland.

The warning was issued this evening at 5 pm but is set to come into motion at 00.01am on Wednesday.

The strong winds are set to end at 8 am on tomorrow, Wednesday.
