Three hospitalised after being struck by car that mounted pavement in Co. Louth

THREE people have been injured after being struck by a car that mounted a pavement early this morning.

The incident happened at around 1.15am in Market Street in Ardee, Co. Louth.

The car, a silver Vauxhall Vectra, failed to stop after striking the three people – a man aged 53 and two women aged 20 and 21.

The three were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda although their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The car was found crashed and abandoned a short distance away.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
