Three injured after Garda car collides with three other vehicles in Dublin

Gardaí have launched an investigation after a Garda car was involved in a four-vehicle collision in Dublin today.

The crash occurred outside the Clarence Hotel on Wellington Quay at around 2.10pm this afternoon.

A taxi cab, a BMW and an unmarked Garda car were all involved.

Both Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene.

The taxi driver and BMW driver were both attended to and a total of three people were taken to hospital.

The severity of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.

The section of the South Quay beteeen Burgh Quay and Wood Quay where the collision occurred remains closed this evening.

The College Green traffic ban has been temporarily lifted for outbound traffic, but AA Roadwatch has advised motorists to avoid the area if possible.

Diversions are also in place for Dublin Bus services.
