Three jailed over Luke Fitzpatrick killing

THREE men found guilty of killing young Irishman Luke Fitzpatrick have been sentenced at the Old Bailey with one man jailed for life.

Christopher Walters, 23, of Lovett Way, Neasden, received a life sentence for murdering Luke Fitzpatrick in May 2012. He must serve a minimum of 28 years, less the one year he has already spent on remand.

Loen Burton, 17, of Woodcote Avenue, Mill Hill, who was also found guilty of murder, will serve a minimum of 17 years. He has already spent 301 days on remand.

Teenager Abdi Hassan, 17, of Warren Road, in Cricklewood, who was found guilty of manslaughter, will serve 11 years detention in a young offenders institution.

Luke Fitzpatrick's family were all in court and cheered as the sentencing was read out.

All three men were also found guilty last month of causing grievous bodily harm to Luke’s 56-year-old Dublin-born father, Bernard Fitzpatrick, who was stabbed repeatedly as he tried to protect his son from the mob attack on May 19, 2012.
