Woman, 40s, left 'critical' in hospital after being struck by cyclist in Dublin

A PEDESTRIAN has been left in a critical condition in hospital after she was struck by a cyclist while crossing the road.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was seriously hurt in the incident at Grand Parade, Ranelagh at around 9am on Thursday morning.

The collision occurred as she was attempting to cross the road, Gardaí confirmed.

The woman was initially taken to St Vincent’s University Hospital to the south of the capital after emergency services were called to the scene.

She was subsequently transferred to Beaumont Hospital in north Dublin.

A Garda spokesman said her condition remains critical.
