Woman in her 80s dies after collision with car in Dublin

A WOMAN in her 80s has died after she was involved in a collision with a car in Dublin yesterday afternoon.

The single-vehicle road traffic collision occurred at Woodside Grove, Rathfarnham at around 4.40pm on Wednesday.

The pedestrian was fatally injured and pronounced dead at scene.

Her body was removed to the Mortuary at Tallaght Hospital for a post mortem.

The female driver, also in her 80s, was taken to St James’s Hospital with minor injuries.

A technical and forensic examination of the scene has been completed and the road has since re-opened to traffic.
