Manchester United Women have today announced that defender Aoife Mannion has signed a contract extension with the club.
Since joining United in the summer of 2021, Mannion has become an integral part of the team. The 27-year-old has made 28 appearances in a United jersey since her debut in September 2021.
Mannion helped United chase Chelsea down in the Women's Super League title race, but unfortunately, she suffered a MCL injury in the season run-in and United finished second in final game of the season.
The United star declared for Ireland last year and has won two caps in friendly games against China and the USA. However, due to her injury, she was unable to cement a place in Ireland's World Cup squad in the end.

Her words showcase the genuine passion she holds for the club, highlighting her commitment to contribute to the team's future successes.
Manchester United Women's head coach, Marc Skinner, echoed the sentiments of the entire club, emphasising the significance of Aoife Mannion both on and off the field. He said, "Aoife is a key part of our squad on and off the field and consistently displays the values and leadership qualities required to play for Manchester United." Clearly, Aoife's presence extends beyond her exceptional footballing abilities, as she serves as a role model and leader within the team.
