Fancy watching a GAA game from 35,000 ft?

PASSENGERS on flights between Ireland and the US and Canada will now be able to enjoy front-row seats to GAA fixtures, 35,000 ft in the air.

Kilkenny hurler Richie Hogan, and Kerry and Dublin footballers, Colm Cooper and Bernard Brogan, are amongst the faces that will welcome GAA fans on board, enabling them to stay close to the action mid-flight.

Speaking to an Irish audience at the launch of the 2015 All Britain Competition at the Irish Embassy in London yesterday, May 21, GAA President Aogan O'Fearghail confirmed the new deal with Aer Lingus.

The move will enable those on the transatlantic flights to stay tuned to the 2015 Senior Football and Hurling Championship season through the on board service.

It will be an extension of GAAGO streaming service from the GAA and RTÉ, that currently allows paid users outside of Ireland to watch live and on demand games via the Internet.

The service is currently available in over 158 countries worldwide.

In addition to the championship fixtures, Allianz League matches and selected club, U21 and Minor games are available to be viewed through GAAGO.

The Sunday Game highlights show also became available on the service from May 17.
