FULLEN GAELS have made history by reaching the All Ireland Junior Club Hurling Final on February 10. They are the first team from Britain to have achieved this.
However, the Irish Sea has to be negotiated if you are on the Road to Croker from Manchester. And on the weekend of the Ireland-England Six Nations clash in Dublin, flights home cost at least £200 per player.
The result is that Fullen, who have already had to travel back for the semi-final, need to raise a further £2,500 to cover costs.
The British champions are appealing to the Irish community to help sponsor their trip home to the All-Ireland final.
Team manager Stan Murray-Hession said: "As far as we know, we’re the smallest club that’s played in an All-Ireland final. We have 38 member, with 29 playing."
