Wayne Rooney gives another Irish youngster Championship debut

WAYNE ROONEY is being very good to the young Irish lads.

Derby County manager Wayne Rooney has been very outspoken with his admiration of young Irish players Jason Knight and Louie Watson.

And as of this week, we have another young prospect at Derby to keep an eye on.

Wexford lad Festy Ebosele made his Championship debut against Norwich at the weekend, saying that it was a dream come true for he and his family.

"It was amazing," he told Rams TV after the match. "It’s been a dream of mine ever since I came to the club when I was 14. I was happy to be able to get out on the pitch for about 10 minutes. The result didn’t go our way but it was a great achievement for myself and my family."

The Enniscorthy lad, who was born in Nigeria, was facing off against his international team-mate Andrew Omobamidele, who has really impressed since getting into a Premier League-bound Norwich side.

Ebosele has impressed for Ireland at youth team level, and is still just 18 years of age.

Derby are currently involved in a relegation battle, and are two points ahead of the danger zone, having played two games more.

Here's hoping the Irish lads can pull them through.
