GARDAÍ have appealed for information to help identify a body discovered off the coast of Co. Leitrim 35 years ago.
They are hoping images of the man's distinctive tattoos could help identify the remains, discovered on May 1, 1986.
The man was found on a small stretch of coast at Knockbrack, Tullaghan and later buried at St Clare's Cemetery in Manorhamilton.
Description
The unidentified man is believed to have been between 30 and 50 years old and around 5' 4" to 5' 7" in height.
He had two very distinctive tattoos on each arm.
On the right upper arm there was a green shamrock, while the right forearm bore a dagger with a red handle in a green scabbard (pictured).
On the left upper arm, two thin rapier-like swords with red handles crossed in front of a green heart-like or shield shape.

He was discovered wearing blue Wrangler jeans and a dark-coloured leather belt.
The belt had a silver buckle with the words 'Malt Liquor' and 'Schlitz' or 'Schlutz', accompanied by a picture of a dog or bull (pictured).
He had brown, rubber-soled shoes with leather uppers that were made by 'JBees' or 'B. Jees', as well as grey socks.
Exhumation
Earlier this year, the Garda Missing Persons Unit arranged for an exhumation to obtain a DNA sample to check against the Missing Persons Database and enquiries to establish his identity are continuing.
