Colin Morgan joins cast of BBC Radio 4 series Good Omens

THE FALL star Colin Morgan has been cast in BBC Radio 4's adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's apocalyptic classic Good Omens.

The Northern Irish actor – who has also appeared in Quirke and Merlin – will play the character of Newton Pulsifer in the new show.

The story, published in 1990, sees an angel and demon join forces to try and stop the end of the world coming about.

The BBC has announced that recording has begun "in a secret London location".

The cast also includes Josie Lawrence (Skins, EastEnders) as Agnes Nutter, Paterson Joseph (Peep Show, Green Wing) as Famine, Mark Heap (Spaced, Green Wing) as the angel Aziraphale and Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace) as the demon Crowley.

Authors Gaiman and Pratchett are also set to make cameos in the series, which will have five half-hour episodes and an hour-long finale.

The adaptation is due to be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 across a week in December.
