Irish actor wins Best Supporting Actor at BAFTA Awards

BRÍAN F. O'BYRNE won the Best Supporting Actor at the BAFTA awards last night.

The Cavan native picked up the gong for Best Supporting Actor for his role in ITV's drama Little Boy Blue, based on the real life murder of Rhys Jones.

O'Byrne plays the role of Steve Jones in the drama, the father of Rhys Jones, who was murdered by gang members in 2007.

The 50-year-old appeared on stage wearing his Tá badge, noting he will be voting Yes in the referendum to repeal the 8th amendment on May 25th.

O'Byrne dedictated his award to Rhys Jones, and thanked the crew on the show and the city Liverpool for embracing him and the show.
