Jack Reynor to return to Ireland for role in The Secret Scripture

Jack Reynor is set to return to Ireland for his next movie role in the film adaptation of Sebastian Barry’s The Secret Scripture.

The 22-year-old Wicklow native who has starred in films such as What Richard did and Delivery Man was in Dublin recently for the premier of his film Transformers Age of Extinction.

The Secret Scripture, which was adapted for the screen by the late Johnny Ferguson will feature an all-star cast including Rooney Mara from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Vanessa Redgrave and Jeremy Irons.

Mara and Reynor are currently in contract negotiations.

The Secret Scripture will reportedly be entirely shot in Ireland with an all Irish crew.

The story centres on Roseanne, a lady who can’t recall her age after over sixty year in asylums’ in Ireland.

As the story unfolds, audiences discover the why Roseanne was incarcerated and are also introduced to the second narrator of the novel, Roseanne's psychiatrist Dr William Grene.

Jim Sheridan (My Left Foot) is reported to be directing the project, which will be produced by his long-time collaborator Noel Pearson.

IFTA winner Reynor will arrive in back in Ireland mid-October to join the rest of the cast on set.

Filming for The Secret Scripture will begin in September.
