5 Irish restaurants awarded prestigious Michelin star status at London ceremony, bringing total count to 18

5 IRISH restaurants have been awarded prestigious Michelin Star status at a ceremony which took place yesterday, October 7th, in Fulham, London.

In an impressive feat, one such restaurant, Aimsir in Cellbridge, County Kildare, was awarded two stars at once-- despite only opening their doors last year.

Aimsir claims on their website that, as much as possible, everything served within the restaurant is grown or produced on Irish soil.

Dublin city centre restaurant Greenhouse was promoted from one star to two.

Three Irish restaurants made their first venture in Michelin Stardom: Bastion in Kinsale County Cork, Variety Jones in Dublin, The Oak Room in Adare County Limerick. In Northern Ireland, The Muddlers Club in Belfast was awarded its first Michelin Star.

It brings the total of Michelin restaurants in the Republic of Ireland to 18.
