In pictures: Night of culture and craic at the Lewisham céilí

THIS month's céilí in Lewisham was a musical extravaganza - with traditional Irish dancing, music and craic on offer.

Pictured here are sisters Josie and Ellen Hedderman-Thompson from the Tanya Dirrane School of Irish Dancing, who took to the floor to entertain the crowds with their jigs, led by fantastic music from Tommy McCarthy and the resident band, The Ceilidh Tree.

The Lewisham céilí takes place on the third Sunday of every month in the Lewisham Irish Centre - and is a chance for the local Irish community to come together for jigs, polkas and traditional sean nós singing.

See the pictures from Sunday's event below - hat tip to Claire Hedderman for the pictures!
