Irish weather girl hit by lightning live on TV

AN IRISH language weather presenter was struck by lightning live on television yesterday – but everything wasn’t quite as it seemed.

Forecaster Caitlín Nic Aoidh was reporting the usual late-October chills when a mysterious lightning bolt struck the studio.

Nic Aoidh screamed as she was struck and vanished into a puff of smoke – but of course, it was all an elaborate trick.

Viewers on social media were certainly impressed by the level of production value on show on TG4.

“Holy Hell. Take a bow @TG4TV take a bow,” wrote one bewitched user.

The stunt wasn’t Caitlín’s first live on air, after she had previously presented the weather while knelt on a flying carpet.

Of course she did.

Let’s hope Caitlín can magic away some of the grim November weather too.
