Liam Gallagher 'gutted' as he announces death of beloved dog Ruby

LIAM GALLAGHER has said he is 'gutted' after the sudden death of his beloved dog, Ruby.

The former Oasis star took to Twitter, where he has a large following of fans, to share the sad news.

"Just lost this little girl [tonight]," he wrote.

"Absolutely gutted.

"RIP RUBY aka SPARKLE."

The musician shared an old photograph of himself cuddling Ruby, who he had adopted with his then-wife Nicole Appleton a number of years ago.

The pair divorced in 2014 but Appleton, of All Saints fame, was among the thousands who commented underneath the post, writing "Oh Liam... I'm in bits.. our beautiful little Ruby Tuesday".

She also took to Instagram where she shared a photograph of the adorable sausage dog, named after The Rolling Stones song Ruby Tuesday and said she "can't believe" her beloved pet had passed away.

"I can't even," she wrote. "My beautiful baby girl Ruby Tuesday as passed away.

"I feel physically sick and incredibly heartbroken ... I can't believe it."

Both Gallagher and Appleton received thousands of messages of condolences from animal lovers who know how devastating it is to lose a pet.

"The hardest part of loving a dog is the goodbye," one person replied to 'gutted' Liam.

"It's a sore one when your dog goes," another wrote. "I have a wee sausage dog also I hope she lives forever."
