Police search for owners of canine Ed Sheeran fan found lost and alone after Phoenix Park concert

POLICE in Dublin are searching for the owners of a dog found in Phoenix Park this week - where singer Ed Sheeran had been wowing crowds as he closes his mini tour of the country.

The animal was found "tired from the concert" wandering in Chesterfield Avenue on Wednesday, May 16, according to Gardai, and is being kept at Kilmainham Garda Station.

In an appeal made through their Facebook page, they urged its owners to make contact.

"This fella was found on Chesterfield Avenue, Phoenix Park last night, must be an Ed Sheeran fan," they said.

"He is in Kilmainham Garda Station tired from the concert, please contact Gardai on (01) 666-7900, we would love to see him back with his owners."

Sheeran, 27, took to take the stage in Phoenix Park on Wednesday - he will also play there tonight and tomorrow.

The three gigs are the final instalments of his nine-date Irish tour.
