MANCHESTER United’s Wayne Rooney decided to join in the St Patrick’s Day celebrations yesterday by sharing a throwback picture on Instagram.
Rooney published a post of himself and former teammates John O’Shea and Jonny Evans alongside a picture of what he believed to be the Irish flag.
His hilarious blunder was met with reaction from amused fans who pointed out that the flag was in fact that of the Ivory Coast – which has the same colours in reverse order.
He’s changed the picture now, as above, but not before his mistake was widely shared across social media.
