PASSENGERS en route to Dallas in the United States witnessed one woman be sucked toward a broken window after an explosion went off.
The engine of aircraft SWA 1380 exploded, causing the plane to make an emergency landing.
One passenger said the commotion that ensued was terrifying.
Marty Martinez, who was on board the flight said: "Everybody was going crazy, and yelling and screaming...
"As the plane is going down, I am literally purchasing internet just so I can get some kind of communication to the outside world.
The plane successfully made an emergency landing in Philadelphia following the loss of the engine.
The engine's debris flew into the window of the flight and broke a window, hitting a female passenger onboard.
The broken window created a hole in the aircraft which sucked the limbs of the woman out and other objects including jackets among other items.
According to CNN, the passenger who died in the incident has not yet been identified.
