Video: Irish Celtic and Rangers fans in heated clash at Belfast Airport

TRAVELLING football fans had to be escorted from Belfast City Airport on Sunday after a row broke out between Celtic and Rangers rival fans.

A video showing the argument between the opposing sides was uploaded to YouTube yesterday.

The Belfast Telegraph reports that the heated exchange took place between fans who were returning from the two sides' Scottish Cup semi-final clash on Sunday.

After the match ended in a draw, Rangers won 5-4 after a penalty shoot-out.

The video shows a man in a Celtic jersey arguing with Rangers fans before security steps in the intervene.

At one point, another man in a dark jumper strikes out at the man in the Celtic jersey's face with his elbow.

Fans of the both teams are known for their intense rivalry.

After the game on Sunday, Police Scotland arrested nine men aged between 18 and 56 years for public order offences in and around Hampden Park, Scotland's national stadium where the match took place.
