Boy arrested as homeless man found murdered in Dublin

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested in connection with the death of a homeless man in Dublin.

The body of the victim was discovered in a laneway in Kilmainham, Dublin, in the early hours of this morning, Monday 14 September.

According to Gardaí, the victim, who is aged in his 40's, was attacked and had his phone stolen near Madison Road at around 1.30am.

It is understood he sustained fatal injuries in the attack and died at the scene.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested following reports of a number of teenagers in the area at the time the man was murdered.

The teenager is currently being detained for questioning at Kevin Street Garda Station in relation to the incident, where he can be held for up to 24 hours.

An Garda Síochána have confirmed they are following a definite line of inquiry into the man's death, however they have appealed for anyone with further information in relation to the attack to come forward.
