Coventry Girls football team join Irish Post's 45th celebrations

MEMBERS of the Coundon Court Girls football team in Coventry helped celebrate The Irish Post’s 45th anniversary over the weekend.

After securing an 8-1 victory over Coventry City Girls, the team – which is 50 per cent Irish – shared their best wishes for our special milestone by forming a human 45!

Headed up by Irish coach Eugene Lenihan, the Coundon Court Girls team includes Shannon O’Brien, Aine Lenehan, Grace Fennelly, Indya Masser, Alysha Smith McEnery, Chloe Robson, Mille Webb, Jess Hollins, Shayni Young, Bethany Dewar and Lilie Palmer.

With Coundon’s strong Irish links – the area is known locally as County Coundon – both the town and the club have strong links with Roger Casements, St Finbarr's and other GAA clubs around Coventry.
