Gardaí appeal for dash cam footage after young woman, 22, gravely injured by car in Dublin

A YOUNG woman has been seriously injured after she was struck by a car in Dublin.

The pedestrian, 22, was involved in a collision with a vehicle near the Pavilions Shopping Centre Roundabout in Swords just after 9am this morning, Gardaí said.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the woman was rushed to Beaumont Hospital with serious head injuries.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The Swords bypass remains closed this afternoon as a full forensic examination takes place.

A Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision on the R132, Swords, Co Dublin (Northbound – close to Pavilions Shopping Centre Roundabout) this morning 17 April 2018 at approximately 9am.

"A 22-year-old female pedestrian sustained serious injuries when she was involved in a collision with a car.

"The woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious head injuries. The driver of the car was not injured."

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

In particular, officers are seeking drivers or cyclists with dash cams/Go Pros to get in contact.
