Gardaí investigate ‘sudden death’ of man in his 50s

GARDAÍ have begun an investigation after the sudden death of a man in Dublin this afternoon.

They are currently carrying out a technical examination at the man’s home in Tyrellstown in north Dublin.

It is understood no arrests have yet been made in the investigation into the death of the man, aged in his 50s.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí from Blanchardstown are currently at the scene of a sudden death of a man (50s) at his home in Mount Eustace, Tyrrelstown.

"Gardaí were notified of the incident at approximately 4.30pm this afternoon.

"The State Pathologist has been notified and a technical examination is taking place of the scene.

"The body will be removed to the City Morgue in Whitehall and a post mortem will take place tomorrow morning, Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10.30am.

"The results of the post mortem will determine the course of the garda investigation."
