Gardaí stop bus driver nine times over the drink-drive limit

GARDAÍ stopped a bus driver only to discover he was nine times over the drink-drive limit.

The incident happened at around 7pm on Tuesday night.

The driver, aged in his 60s, was pulled over by the Naas Roads Policing Unit on the M7.

There were no passengers on the bus however according to RTÉ, gardaí discovered an open bottle of wine on the front passenger seat.

In Ireland, the legal limit for professional, learner and novice drivers is nine microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, compared to 22 for other fully liensed drivers.

The driver is due in Naas District Court on Wednesday, October 17.
